I’m from San Diego, born and raised. Prior to moving up north, I owned only hoodies and a single windbreaker. My wardrobe consisted of tanks and cut-offs, and I had only a single scarf in my possession that dated back to the early 90’s and only made the moving box for nostalgia’s sake. Nigga, what the fuck is a scarf? Needless to say there was a bit of culture shock when I moved mid-Autumn just in time to feel the chill. I needed to buy clothes with lining, and STAT.
Now that I’ve lived here for several years, I can safely admit that I couldn’t tie, wrap, or anything that resembled styling a scarf prior to 2007. I had to google that shit, and even then the results were sketchy. If only I had known about snoods, man.
While cruising ASOS.com tonight (what can I say, I’m a sucker for toxic relationships, also soopa hot clothes) I discovered the Snood, a piece of cloth draped to look like a scarf that you kinda just pull over your head and go. Neck warm – check. Looks like I know what I’m doing – check, and check.
I’m sold. Well kinda. I think I can do without the thirty dollar price tag that comes with sewing some fabric in a ring, so I’ll just do it myself. Up with Joann’s, down with credit card debt. Check out more inspiration for $hannon Elaine’s next craft project after the jump! Holler for finally finding a use for that domino print!
